The wide sandy beach at Par has an unusual feel to it! The sand is really smooth because for many years the docks at the westerly end were used to handle China Clay, a big industry in the area. The beach has always been popular with families, there is parking right next to the beach, a lovely pub, The Ship Inn at the easterly end of Polmear and cafes and pubs in nearby Par village too. The water here is shallow, especially at low tide when you have to walk quite far to swim.
