•   Traditional Cornish village pub in the centre of Pendeen•   Good Beer and Good Food at fair pub prices•   Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Accommodation•   Simple Camping with sea viewsLandlord John Coak has appeared in two series of “Poldark” as a villager and fish gutter.•   Attractive large Beer Garden•   Pétanque (Boules) Pistes. . . in the heart of the village PENDEENThis is very much Poldark country and John, the landlord, will be appearing as an extra in the forthcoming series.The North Inn was a favourite haunt of tin miners until the local mine closed in 1990.The pub was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in 2013 by TripAdvisor in recognition of the fact that it ranks in the top 10% in the world for traveller feedback.The pub also achieved the highest food hygiene rating of 5 issued by the Food Standards Agency, Cornwall Council.Four excellent pétanque pistes have been constructed in the beer garden and affiliated members of the British Pétanque Association are offered a 10% discount off B&B prices.It was voted CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale) Cornwall Pub of the Year for 2003, which recognises not only the standard of the beers but also the atmosphere, the mix of clientele, the availability of food and even the condition of the toilets.WiFi is available (incl. in the bedrooms) and also BT Sport on the pub TV.A ange Of Homemade FoodsA wide menu is available with prices set to reflect that this is a pub serving food and not a restaurant selling liquor. We are well known for our range of authentic Indian curries and our homemade pies and other dishes and the emphasis is on simplicity and the use of local produce when available.Our Menu caters for all tastes including vegetarians and a children’s section.StartersInclude Homemade Soup, Prawns Cocktail, Garlic Mushrooms and WhitebaitMain CoursesInclude Battered Fillet of Haddock, Other Fresh Fish as available, Goujons of Plaice and Scampi; Homemade Pies, Steaks, Bangers and Mash, Vegetarian Burgers and Lasagne.We have an excellent reputation for our authentic Indian curries all of which are home-made using fresh spices and local produce. The range includes South Indian Style Monkfish, various Beef, Lamb, Pork and Chicken, Dal and all are served with Rice, Naan Bread, Yoghurt and Pickles.DessertsWe make our own Apple Pie and Treacle Tart with Ice Cream or Cornish Clotted Cream.Children’s DishesIn the Children’s Corner there are Fish Fingers, Egg Chips and Beans, Pork Chipolatas in Yorkshire Pudding and Beans etc.SandwichesThere is a wide selection of Sandwiches cut to order. Ploughman’s with ham, cheddar, stilton, brie or smoked mackerel are available.Sunday Roastis served and booking is usually advisable. This comprises Topside of Beef or Leg of Pork, Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Carrots, Broccoli and Leeks and for Vegetarians there is a Nut Roast with the same Vegetables.Lunch is from 12 Noon to 2.30 Evening Meal from 6.30 to 8.30Food is prepared to Order so please be patient when we are busy.When the weather is fine meals can be eaten in the large Garden at the rear.
