Description

Dog friendly pub, The Rashleigh Inn, in Polkerris, is set between the village of Par and Fowey. It is only 3 miles from the Eden Project and Luxulyan Valley. The pub itself is set just off Polkerris beach which is a lovely sheltered harbour beach overlooking St Austell Bay.Jon and Samantha Spode took over the running of The Rashleigh in 2001. It is a thriving, popular pub and restaurant, featured in many tourist and food guides. It has featured in every edition of the Good Beer Guide and the Good Pub Guide since 2001.In the summer it is a delight to sit on the south west facing terrace, overlooking the beach and in the evening watch the last rays of the sun disappear behind the hills across the bay.In the winter, You can cosy up to the log fire in the bar area or sit in the bay window area watching the waves crash against the beach and harbour wall.Jon and Samantha pride themselves on sourcing their food from quality local suppliers. Sunday roasts are particularly popular, booking is advisable as they can get full very quickly.Old favourites like steak and ale pie, beer battered cod and Kittows bangers and mash are joined by some exciting newcomers like hand picked White Crab salad , Cornish sirloin steak, sticky cajun chicken and chicken arrabatia. They make their own chips and sweet potato fries in house ~ not bought in and they now smoke their own meats, cheese, fish and garlic in a state of the art smoker.Dogs are particularly welcome in the pub. They are also welcome on the beach, except between Easter Sunday and 30 September when a seasonal dog ban is in place.
