Walk: Lanhydrock and Respryn

The wooded estate around the main gardens and house of the National Trust’s Lanhydrock is a haven for dogs and their walkers. From the main car park you can enjoy this four mile circular walk along the River Fowey and around the estate woodland.Start at the main car park and follow the pathway along the front of the main house and onwards into the Great Wood. Continue along the trail to the Ford Plantation and then bear left to continue the walk towards Respryn Bridge on the River Fowey. From here, you follow the driveway through Lanhydrock park and continue through the Great Wood towards Maudlin to return via the woodland gardens and Lanhydrock House. You can find detailed directions at iWalkCornwallDogs are not allowed in the main gardens but they are welcome at the Stable Café and you can buy homemade dog treats there as well as human snacks and drinks.  You can pick up trail maps for walks at the reception, café and shop.
