The Old Inn is a traditional thatched pub set in the picturesque village of Mullion on the Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly point of mainland Britain.
It is at very heart of village life and is seeped in history, having provided food and respite to weary travellers since the 16th century.
There are five large, light en-suite bedrooms – all individually furnished. The Old Inn offers the ideal Cornish retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Guests will receive a warm welcome from Manager Sara Liddle Jenkins who prides herself on creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and offering sumptuous cooked food and meals.
Head Chef, Rebecca Carlisle is passionate about using fresh, local seasonal produce – her Mussels are a must! From brilliant ‘proper’ pie to the ‘best god damn scotch eggs’, there is something for everyone. Meat comes from local Mullion butchers, just down the road. Fresh fish and seafood comes from specialist Matthew Stevens based in St Ives. Vegetables are also locally sourced in Cornwall and are seasonal. Cheeses include the Cornish Yarg – traditional Cornish cheese wrapped in nettles. The Old Inn caters for vegetarians and coeliacs and tries to ensure an interesting menu for all guests. Wherever possible, they are happy to provide small portions for children. They can also cater for small functions.
The Inn holds the prestigious Cask Marque reflecting the care they take over their beer and cellar. It stocks St Austell Tribute and two other St Austell beers, plus a guest beer. With an extensive wine list, guests can also be sure of plenty of choice to find the ideal wine.
