The pretty garden – something of a sun trap, with a pleasant lawn and courtyard perfect for summer barbecues – leads you underneath a flowered archway to the front entrance.

Through the hallway, you are greeted by a most comfortable sitting room, finished in calming tones of grey with aqua and mustard highlights.

The pristine kitchen has all the mod cons you could need, as well as a very sweet little pot belly stove – a lovely feature reminiscent of the cottage’s former life.

A good-sized dining room provides plenty of space for everyone to enjoy family meals together.

On the first floor, two well-presented double bedrooms (one with a television) and a single room guarantee a good night’s sleep.

Having gone to great lengths to make the cottage a real family home, the owners have provided a selection of books and toys for children, as well as a mat and bowls for the four-legged members of the family.

Outside, they have also made storage for bikes and surf boards available.

Ideally located for exploring south-east Cornwall, quaint fishing villages and sandy coves are all within a half-hour drive.

Discover fabulous beaches, traditional inns and countless gift shops where you will be sure to find that perfect holiday souvenir.

We also recommend taking the Bodinnick ferry from Polruan to Fowey; if your visit coincides with Fowey’s annual regatta in mid August, you are in for a real treat – a carnival day, a full programme of sailing events, live music and a fantastic fireworks finale.
