We reviewed the most luxurious 5 star Dog Friendly cottages at Old Lanwarnick near Looe, in Cornwall.
If you’re looking for luxury, tucked away in the heart of the Cornish countryside, this is the place to come.
We arrived at the Old Farmhouse on a clear, early spring day, with the sun softly dappling the country lanes as we approached. The Old Farmhouse and and barns look out over countryside and down into the pretty woods, where you and your dog can enjoy peaceful walks alongside a pretty stream. There is an old slate quarry and a specially built Landing by the stream, which is a wonderfully tranquil place to stop and enjoy the sounds and scents of the woodland around you as the stream bounces and babbles nearly.
The owners Mark and Natalie Tindall have taken huge care to ensure that visitors have a comfortable and luxurious stay, and that includes four-legged guests too. A fully fenced area is set aside for off lead exercise, so your dog can enjoy a good, safe run every day and Lansallos Cove is a lovely dog friendly beach nearby.
Inside the cottages, there is hard flooring and carefully chosen furnishings which means that you can all make yourselves comfortable without worrying about muddy paws on floors and wet fur brushing against sofas.
They even provide a welcome pack of natural, handmade biscuits by Anibics, as well as poo bags, dog towel, and water/feed bowl.
If you’re wondering if your dog might enjoy it more than you don’t worry. The grounds, gardens and cottages are just beautiful, there are even hot tubs for humans to enjoy just as much luxury as their canine companions.
Perhaps the most important thing about our experience at Old Lanwarnick however, was how kind and friendly everyone was, it really did feel like a home from home. Definitely a five paw rating from us all here at Dog Friendly Cornwall.
