The Old Wainhouse Inn is conveniently situated, being the only pub on the 20 mile stretch of the A39 between Kilkhampton and Camelford   whether you enjoy a short walk in the fresh sea air or a long, energetic hike, there is much here to impress and enjoy offering a selection of locally sourced food from our restaurant & accommodation.

Accommodation – The Old Wainhouse offers accommodation from £36.00 per person per night. The rooms at our accommodation look out towards the beautiful North Cornish coastline and the rich green fields of the south west coastal path, located in the small village of St. Genny’s near Bude.

Our accommodation will help you relax and get away from the stresses and strains of the urban lifestyle with the outstanding Cornish views.

The accommodation consists of newly decorated rooms in a natural and relaxing style. The rooms sit above the pub so it isn’t to far to go for a hearty meal in our restaurant or coming down to a traditional breakfast from what we hope will be a peaceful and relaxing stay our accommodation

Restaurant – We are a local farming family who are passionate about using the freshest local produce in our restaurant. The butcher, Shane Moore from Kilkhampton, a beef and sheep farmer himself, understands the importance of local consistent quality. From our renowned 21 day matured succulent steaks to Olde Cornish sausages delivered daily, he plays an important role in the success of the The Old Wainhouse Inn and its restaurant.

Celtic Fish and Game provide us with all the pheasant, venison and other game we require to add a different experience to dining at the restaurant, along with fresh seafood caught in these waters.

Children are very welcome to the restaurant, with all of their meals being prepared from fresh ingredients too. Ranging from mini Cornish fish and chips to fresh pasta, we cater for all tastes. A traditional roast carvery is served every Sunday with a choice of at least two delicious local meats, and interesting vegetarian options are always available and locally sourced.

Local Produce – Here at The Old Wainhouse Inn we feel proud to support local suppliers. All our meat is fully traceable from your plate to the farm upon which it was produced and the majority is sourced within Cornwall. As organic farmers ourselves, we understand the importance of extensive farming practices which allow a high level of animal welfare and a natural growth rate resulting in a fuller flavour. All beef animals are hung for three weeks and lamb and pork one to two weeks which further enhances the flavour. We believe that these actions coupled with the farm and pub policy of using traditional breeds with a higher percentage of fat leads to some of the highest quality meat served anywhere
